Plain-English Summary
You use the app to navigate. The app shows a map, your route, and your dot. It does not give turn-by-turn directions. Use your own judgement on the road or trail. Don't use this app as a substitute for safety awareness. We built it carefully but cannot guarantee it works perfectly everywhere.
1. Acceptance
By downloading or using JustMap, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. For EU / UK users, your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these Terms.
2. What JustMap Does
JustMap is a GPX route viewer and position tracker for iPhone. It lets you:
- Import GPX route files from Files, Safari, or AirDrop
- View a route line on a map base layer
- See your current position as a dot on the route (requires location permission)
- Tap a point on the route to see distance and elevation context
It does not:
- Provide turn-by-turn voice navigation
- Plan routes
- Download guaranteed offline maps (map tile caching is best-effort)
- Replace a dedicated navigation device or safety equipment
3. Your Responsibilities
- Use the app in compliance with applicable laws
- Do not use the app while operating a motor vehicle in a manner that endangers yourself or others
- Provide your own route files — the app does not supply routes
- Check route conditions, weather, road closures, and safety requirements independently
- Do not rely solely on the app for navigation in remote or dangerous terrain; carry backup navigation means
You are responsible for safe use of the app during physical activity. The app does not provide emergency services, real-time hazard alerts, or safety monitoring.
4. GPX Files and Route Content
GPX files you import are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to us. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the route files you use. We make no warranty about the accuracy of third-party GPX files.
5. Intellectual Property
JustMap, its code, design, and associated materials are protected by copyright and applicable intellectual property law. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your own iOS device for personal, non-commercial navigation purposes.
Base map tiles are provided by the map provider under their own licence terms. The GPX files you import are yours — we claim no ownership or rights over them.
6. App Availability and Updates
We provide the app as-is and may update, modify, or discontinue it at any time. App Store distribution is subject to Apple's terms and availability.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: the app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.
EU / UK consumer note: Nothing in this section removes or limits statutory rights that apply to you as a consumer under EU or UK law.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including physical harm, loss of data, app unavailability, or navigation failures.
Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim. If the app was free, that amount is zero.
EU consumer protection: Where EU law provides greater protection, EU law applies.
9. Navigation Safety Notice
JustMap is not certified for safety-critical navigation. It is a personal tool for recreational bikepacking and cycling.
- Do not use the app as your sole means of navigation in remote terrain
- Do not look at your phone while riding in traffic
- Carry a paper or dedicated GPS backup on long routes in areas with limited signal
- In an emergency, call your local emergency services — the app cannot do this for you
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
